EVENT HISTORY
What began in 2002 as a group of mates taking on a gruelling 117km trail has evolved into an iconic two-day event. In 2003, it made history as Australia’s first official mountain bike marathon, setting the standard for what was to come.
Now in its 24th year, this annual event continues to attract riders, runners, spectators, and sponsors alike — from elite athletes to everyday adventurers and families.
EVENT HISTORY
Set just an hour west of Brisbane on the privately-owned trails of Hidden Vale, Grandchester, the event unfolds across 80+ km of purpose-built tracks that wind through breathtaking landscapes.
While the Epic has grown over the years, it’s never lost the mateship, challenge, and passion that defined its early days. Whether you’re chasing a podium or just out for the ride of a lifetime, this is your invitation to be part of something truly special.
